MICHIGAN ... new house and update
Wednesday, July 18, 2007, 05:42 PM
Well, we now are the proud owners of our first home here in Westland, Michigan. We have been super busy painting and installing and updating stuff around here, and we'll never truly be through home improving, so we decided to just clean up and take pictures so my sisters would get off my back about sending pictures of the new house. So ... here is the latest with us. Enjoy the pics and there are a few stories with some pictures too ....
Love,
Daniel, Francesca and Noah
For the 4th of July we went to our ward picnic then installed celing fans and blinds! Yahoo.
Noah got invited and attended his first birthday party on July 5th. His friend, Kyle Turley, turned four. Noah was by far the youngest and most out-of-it in the crowd ... but he loved it!
Noah loving the bath in the new house ... I love bath pictures.
Noah's future wife will love these too I'm sure.
The bathroom was by far the biggest project ... here it is BEFORE.
This is what it all looked like after we took everything out - toilet and sink.
Daniel trying out the toilet ...

and AFTER. We installed anew low-flow toilet with elongated seat and comfort height seat (Daniel thinks it's too tall for his short legs:)), we put in a new sink and vanity and redid the floors.
The kitchen was difficult because of some painting problems ... but here it is BEFORE.
Before.
Pulling out the dark wallpaper.
Then the paint started peeling ... long story short: the bright yellow you see on the under side of the paint peeling was our first coat ... way too bright and the top coat started peeling ... anyway, it's all good now.

This is the killer squirrel about 1 foot away from us on our back porch. It wasn't afraid of us and Daniel was afraid it might bite Noah, so Daniel went out on the back porch and smacked it with a broom, following it around the yard until it ran away up a tree. I am pretty nervous that it's going to drop on my head from the tree out back and attack me in vengence any day now ...
Master bedroom BEFORE
Master bedroom AFTER - We installed 2 inch wooden blinds in the windows, a ceiling fan, and sliding closet doors.

Memorial Day!
Tuesday, May 29, 2007, 06:15 PM
Well, we had a pretty great Memorial Day! Noah and I went to the downtown Perrysburg parade. It was awesome because we found this place where no one was standing so almost every fire truck that drove by saw Noah waving and saying "Hi!" and they'd honk their horns! Noah thought it was amazing.
Then we went and played softball (just Daniel and I - some young women watched Noah on the sidelines) with our ward ... way fun. I caught a fly ball and Daniel was basically the best hitter on the team ... not to mention super cute in his baseball t-shirt!
Then we BBQ'd while Noah took a nap, and went swimming in Noah's new little pool when he woke up. The weather was perfect all day - 80's and beautiful. We feel so blessed to live in America and have these wonderful family experiences.
Love to all,
Francesca, Daniel and Noah
Daniel and I starting off the BBQ-ing fun.
Daniel and Noah in the pool ... awesome, right?

He's so cute these days - he reminds me a lot of Daniel.
Francesca and Noah getting ready for our "bike ride" around the block.
Noah all decked out in his vacation-wear ... complete with Reef sandals from Uncle Eric ... thanks Eric! Noah uses them ALL the time.
This is our little backyard in our current apartment. Small, but just big enough to have loads of fun with Noah everyday. The green thing on the right is Noah's sandbox.
